And the verdict is....

.....wait one more week. Our “hearing” was canceled because our judge had another meeting at 9am, but instead we had a “mention” at 8:30 this morning. This is not to be confused with an “honorable mention”. It’s not quite as good as a hearing, and not quite as bad as a “seeyasucka”. Damon couldn't believe it either.
So, the net of our meeting was that the previous judge did not brief the new judge (who is the most senior) during the last month, so no decision concerning the legitimacy of our US approval could be made. However, the encouraging thing is that the new judge agreed to hear our matter next week and offered to bring the file home with her to review. So, we are hoping for Friday, April 11th.....but nothing will surprise us at this point. In the meantime, we think we now officially hold the record for most times being removed from court. We are applying to the Guiness Book of World Records next week.

Today we had the privilege of having lunch with several displaced people from the Kiambaa village (the Eldoret church) who were in Nairobi for a diocese conference. From left (below), they were Jane, Peter, Anthony, and Brother Philip. They all lost loved ones and/or had family critically burned or injured. Their testimonies were incredible, and their humility was moving.

Caleb with Jane. Jane is the one who wrote the messages on the wall of the house in Eldoret.
